The trustees of the Wagner Farm Arboretum Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce the return of Wagner Farm Arboretum's spectacular Halloween-themed event "Brite Nites" 2020 Drive-Thru Edition. This event showcases an elaborate display of intricately and creatively hand-carved and lighted pumpkins (thanks to a talented group of artists and pumpkin carvers). These breathtaking pumpkin sculptures have been updated with new themes, LED bulbs, and new special effects. There will even be a tribute to our first responders and essential workers. Due to Covid-19 precautions, the event has turned 100% contactless and you will be able to buy your ticket online, queue up for your time slot, have your ticket scanned, and then enjoy the displays as you drive down the Pumpkin Path. The anticipated amount of time to get through the path is about 15 minutes. More importantly, you get to safely remain in your vehicle, at all times. Sadly, that means there will be no country store, food trucks, "Barn of Fear", or "L'il Pumpkin Patch".

This year, especially, many area non-profits have struggled with how to continue providing their programs in a contactless format, how to continue paying their employees and more importantly how to fundraise in new and different ways. Wagner Farm Arboretum is no exception and their Giving Garden Project was hit particularly hard. From not being able to have area schoolchildren grow seedlings and subsequently plant them in the donation garden to limiting the number of volunteer groups allowed to grow, weed, harvest and deliver produce to area food banks. The trustees felt that allowing their biggest fundraiser to "go on" despite the rise in virus cases and lack of sponsors or volunteers would help to bring some smiles to their fellow New Jerseyans, during these trying times.

About Wagner Farm Arboretum: Established in 2004 as a non-profit organization, the Arboretum seeks to enrich, educate and inspire the community by increasing environmental awareness and recreational opportunities. Our programs include; The Giving Project where produce is sown, grown and harvested in the Giving Garden, Coddington Farm Garden, and Rutgers Cooperative Extension Farms in Pittstown, NJ and then donated to area food pantries; the WFA Community Garden; and the Children's Garden. Our volunteers make all of this possible with very little financial support from the township.
