PISCATAWAY, NJ – Students in entering grades 3-9 can develop their hoops abilities at Coach Darius Griffin’s Fundamental Basketball Camp this summer, July 15-19.
The camp, to be held at Piscataway’s Conackamack Middle School will teach players the fundamental skills of basketball such as ball handling and shooting techniques, and the proper ways to play ‘man on the ball’ defense and team defense, and how to break bad habits.
“Too many young players develop bad basketball habits and never learn to correct them until they’re in high school and by that time it’s too late,” said Coach Darius Griffin, Piscataway High School’s boys varsity head coach.
Campers will hear guest lectures and participate in contests designed to teach the importance of team play and competition. Trophies will be awarded for free throw shooting, 3-point shooting, agility, and 3-on-3 contests along with best defensive and offensive players and best attitude.
Registration is $250 per student and is open until slots fill up. For more information or to register, contact Coach Griffin at (732) 429-7330 or email CoachDarius@gmail.com.
