ASBURY PARK, NJ – On Saturday, November 16, 2019, Thanks4Giving to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) will be held near Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ. This annual plunge has evolved into two great events, now incorporating a run along the boardwalk in the all new Turkey Dash 5K before plungers take the Turkey Splash in the crisp Atlantic Ocean.

Organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), the largest fundraising organization for SONJ, working alongside the city of Asbury Park, Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, and the Borough of Bradley Beach, Thanks4Giving brings together individuals and teams to raise funds and awareness for over 26,000 Special Olympics New Jersey athletes.

“Plunges are the heart of our fundraising efforts for SONJ,” says Robert Belfiore, Director of the New Jersey LETR and Retired Chief of Port Authority Police of New York & New Jersey. “Giving participants the opportunity to have fun for a great cause and run or plunge side-by-side with the Special Olympics athletes that they are supporting is truly a rewarding experience. Our fundraisers get to see directly how the money they raise impacts the lives of so many.”
