EAST STROUDSBURG, PA – Olivia Lukshides, a 2016 Piscataway High School graduate and sophmore swimmer on the women’s team for East Stroudsburg University (ESU) is among eight student-athletes selected for athletics awards at the Pennsylvania campus.

Lukshides will receive the Winter Freshman of the Year award for her performance during the 2016-2017 academic year.

According to a news release from the university, she held "PSAC women's swimming qualifying times in the 50, 100 and 200 free and 100 back. She placed 14th in the 100, 17th in the 200 and 21st in the 50 to score in all three events. She also had ESU's No. 2 time in program history in the 200 free (1:56.01) and No. 3 time in the 100 free (53.37).”

Lukshides will be recognized at an event for ESU student-athletes on Saturday, August 27 at 7 p.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse marking only the second time the school has given awards for freshmen of the year.
