EDISON, NJ- The Edison Farmers’ Market takes place every Sunday, from June to October, 8am – 2pm, at 925 Amboy Ave. The farmer’s market, which has been active for 10 years, supplies produce including tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe and most vegetables grown on a family run farm in Monroe. Other produce comes from South Jersey.
“The freshness of our produce is what makes it better than a grocery store,” said Diane Byrne, who helps run the farmers market. According to Edison resident Allie Seyffart, the produce is organic and tastes fresh. Seyffart strongly urged fellow Edison residents try out the produce. Another Edison resident at the market pointed out that the produce is affordable in comparison to organic produce sold elsewhere, and therefore regularly visits the Edison Farmers’ Market.
The Edison Farmers’ Market accepts women-in-crisis checks as well as New Jersey's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Juliana Markovich, who regularly helps with the market stated that it is these little benefits, along with the freshness of the produce, that makes the Edison Farmer’s Market different from other markets.
