PISCATAWAY, NJ - The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning until 8 pm Tuesday for Piscataway and the surrounding Central New Jersey area.

An Excessive Heat Warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely.

Piscataway residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity and check on any neighbors in need. It is also critical that children or pets are not left unattended in vehicles for any period of time.
