EDISON, NJ - The Federation of Indian Associations of tri state of NJ,NY and CT celebrated the 67th Republic Day of India with an inimitable dance competition, “Dance Pe Chance” at the prestigious State Theatre, 15 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on January 30th 2016. 

FIA has been celebrating the Republic Day of India for over 40 years now, diligently promoting the rich culture and various dance styles of India.

Dance Pe Chance is the most coveted dance competition of the tri state wherein the second generation showcases its prowess. Nine schools participated with more than 500 participants. Audience was flabbergasted by the mesmerizing,  enchanting and enthralling  performances   of 19 groups. The Chair person of Dance Pe Chance, Chhavi Dharayan and her team was commended by the  Chairman, Ramesh Patel and Vice Chairman Yash Paul Soi for putting up the show of such magnitude and splendor.

The Republic Day revelries was marked by the Investiture ceremony for the newly elected Executive Committee for 2016. Deputy Consul General Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra administered the oath for office- Anand Patel (President), Andy Bhatia(Executive Vice President), Mahesh Bhagia(Vice President), Chhavi Dharayan (Secretary), Mohin Patel (Joint Secretary) , Mahesh Dubal (Treasurer), Ankur Vaidya (Immediate Past President).

Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri was the Celebrity  Guest. Other dignitaries in presence were Commissioner to the N.J. Board of Public Utilities , Upendra Chivukula, Dr. Sudhir Parikh, Ramesh Patel, Yash Paul Soi, Kanu Chaunhan, Dipak Patel, Jagdish Patel, Paul Parmar and  Anil Moga.

The competition culminated with prize distribution ceremony wherein cash prizes were given away to the first, second and third place winners of minor, junior and senior category. The vote of thanks was proposed by Joint Secretary Mohin Patel

Winners in each category are :-

Minors - 1st Arya Dance Academy, 2nd Nritya Creations & 3rd Kavi School of Dance

Juniors - 1st Aatma Performing Arts, 2nd Aum Dance Creations, 3rd Kavi School of Dance

Seniors - 1st Arya Dance Academy, 2nd Aum Dance Creations, 3rd Aatma Performing Arts & Nritya Creations

Best of the Best dance for the night was awarded to Aum Dance Creations.
