The heat and humidity could cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure, said weather officials. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

The National Weather Service is reminding people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location, said officials. Heat stroke is an emergency, and individuals exhibiting signs and symptoms should call 911.
