CHICAGO, IL-  Don't ask to pass the gravy until you've checked the jar. Approximately 500 cases of Heinz HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy are being voluntarily recalled because some jars may be mislabeled as Heinz Pork Gravy which contains milk and soy, said an announcement by the US Food and Drug Administration.

People who have an allergy or sensitivity to milk or soy run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product, the statement said.

For consumers; the product being recalled are all 12 ounce jars with the Best By date of 12/28/2017 and UPC Code of 013000798907

"We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumer we have disappointed", said the company.
