SPOTSWOOD, NJ - The Szatkowski family is holding a holiday collection that includes gift cards, DVDs/movies and toys in memory of their son Jeffrey Szatkowski Jr. on Sunday, November 29 at the Polish American Club.

Szatkowski was killed in a motor vehicle accident along with Milltown native Nicole Surace during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2013. The young couple was driving along Dutch Road in East Brunswick when the accident occurred. Szatkowski was a senior at Spotswood High School at the time of his death and Surace was a freshman at Monmouth University. The high school sweethearts had been dating since 2012 and were buried next to one another in the final resting place.

The Szatkowski family began a holiday toy drive last Thanksgiving to honor their son's memory. This year, they are joining with the Embrace Kids Foundation of New Brunswick to help make the holidays a little brighter for ill children and their families as well as New Jersey families in need.

They are hoping to collect 150 gift cards and movies that will be given to children at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital that are battling serious illnesses such cancer and sickle cell anemia at their annual holiday party on December 19.

Any toys collected during the drive will be distributed amongst the Saint Peter's Children's Hospital, the Ashley Lauren Foundation, Chidren's Specialized Hospital, Saint Barnabas Medical Center, United Way locations in addition to local families in need.

Residents that would like to contribute to the holiday collection in memory of Jeffrey Szatkowski Jr. can drop off gift cards, movies and or toys at the Polish American Club on 66 Adirondack Avenue in Spotswood on Sunday, November 29 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
