Immaculate Conception School To Sponsor Back To School Drive

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Back-to-school time also means an added expense that many families cannot afford. To assist Middlesex County residents with the purchase of the often costly school supplies, the Immaculate Conception School is sponsoring a School Supply Drive at the Brunswick Square Mall.

All of the donations collected at the drive, which will run through the month of August, will be donated to children in need through the Mobile Family Success Center of Middlesex County and will benefit a Middlesex County school district.

  • folders
  • glue
  • erasers
  • marble notebooks
  • loose leaf paper

There will be several collection events on tap in August where school supply donations can be dropped off. The Immaculate Conception School will be accepting donations on Tuesday, August 1 at the Spotswood/Helmetta's Police Department's National Night Out at the Spotswood Municipal Complex on 77 Summerhill Road from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Donations will also be collected at Jamesburg's National Night Out celebration on August 1 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Jamesburg Fire Department on 82 West Railroad Avenue.

Residents can drop off school supply donations at the Middlesex County Fair, which will be held at the Middlesex County Fairgrounds on Cranbury Road from August 7 through August 13. Simply look for the Immaculate Conception School's table in the pavilion.

The final collection event during the month of August will be held at Brunswick Square Mall on Saturday, August 26 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the mall's center court.

A donation bin will be available in the Immaculate Conception School's vestibule all through the month of August as well. The Immaculate Conception School is located 23 Manalapan Road in Spotswood.

NEW BRUNSWICK - Police today issued a plea for the public’s help in finding a missing 13-year-old girl.

Payton Tomesell, was last seen on Wednesday at 18 Abeel St., authorities said.

The girl suffers from anxiety and depression, and is taking medication, police said.

Tomesell is described as 5-feet, 9-inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds.
