SOMERVILLE, NJ - It’s a magical time of the year and Downtown Somerville is the place to be for family friendly fun plus great holiday shopping and dining.
On Saturday, November 28 from 5:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m., join the Downtown Somerville Alliance (DSA) and sponsors (The Dessert Plate, RAM Law and Shades of Somerville) on the Division Street Plaza (Division Street & Main Street) for the annual tree lighting and Santa's arrival.
Be entertained by the Triangle Dance Center Dancers and the talented musicians from School of Rock Somerville and Van Derveer elementary school. Grab some hot chocolate and a gingerbread cookie as you make your way to the carriages that take you on a ride down Main Street. For the first time this year, get your holiday photos with Santa at the Zen Image Photo Booth.
November 28th is also Shop Small Saturday, so support local businesses and do your holiday shopping at any of the many new boutiques plus longtime local favorites. Businesses throughout downtown Somerville will be offering special holiday deals and promotions.
“With special happenings for shoppers, gourmands, music lovers and more, downtown Somerville, the heart of Somerset County, is the perfect place to celebrate the season,” stated Tom Genova, DSA Chairman. “There’s festive music in the air, a warm glow from shop windows, and the delicious aroma of the area’s best cuisine coming from downtown’s renowned restaurants. All this truly makes us the center of holiday activities in Central New Jersey.”
