PISCATAWAY, NJ – An early afternoon traffic accident closed William Street in Piscataway between Blackford and Wagner Avenues at approximately 12 noon on Tuesday.

The two-vehicle collision between a landscaper dump truck and a late model Nissan Altima resulted in the dump truck overturning onto its side, spilling its load of leaves and tree branches onto the roadway.

The Nissan sedan sustained significant driver side and front end damage, with fluids pouring onto William Street.

The occupants of the dump truck were seen standing with no apparent injuries.

However a woman, presumed to be the driver of the Nissan received medical attention at the scene by first responders, and was transported to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Police officials from both Piscataway and Middlesex townships responded, securing the scene and detouring traffic to alternate routes. Fire personnel from the New Market Fire Company No. 1 also responded.
