MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Maplewood Police have released details about the body which was found in the brook behind the Maplewood Memorial Library this morning.
According to a statement from Captain Dawn Williams of the Maplewood Police, "at approximately 8:17 a.m. the Maplewood Police Department received a report of a possible deceased person in the brook behind the Maplewood Library on Baker Street. Officers responded to the location and confirmed the condition."
The statement from Captain Williams identified the deceased as a 61-year-old Caucasian male, and that "investigators from the Essex County Medical Examiner's Office responded and determined the death was not suspicious and will conduct a further investigation into the cause."
There is no further information from the Maplewood police at this time, and they are currently working to notify the next of kin of the deceased.
