PISCATAWAY, NJ – Piscataway Township has many events planned throughout the year to celebrate the town’s 350th birthday. Mark your calendars for two upcoming 350th Anniversary Commemoration programs.
The Piscataway Historical & Heritage Society and the 350th Anniversary Committee will host a special business presentation by Dean Durling, CEO of QuickChek Stores on Sunday, Jan. 31 at 2:00 p.m. This presentation is free and will be held at J. F. Kennedy Library, 500 Hoes Lane. Light refreshments will be served.
Mr. Durling will share the history of QuickChek in the township, and his presentation will be the first in a series of speakers from local businesses that serve the community.
Piscataway will celebrate Founders Day on Sunday, Feb. 7 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
As part of the 350th Anniversary, Prof. Elizabeth Reeves Lindt of Rutgers University will present an audio-visual presentation about the former Camp Kilmer, a major army base situated mostly in the North Stelton area of Piscataway that was active until the middle of the twentieth century.
This free program is about 1 ½ to 2 hours and light refreshments will be served. It will be held in the Municipal Chambers, 455 Hoes Lane.
