Piscataway Rotary Club and Piscataway Public Library have planned a Memorial Day Family Event for Monday, May 29, 12:30 - 3:30 PM at Quibbletown Park in Piscataway.
This event will take place immediately following the Memorial Day parade, which is scheduled to end around 12:00 PM at the American Legion Post 261 on Washington Avenue. The park is located just a few blocks away, behind Quibbletown Middle School.
Activities planned for the Memorial Day Family Event include a “Flags In” ceremony, Veteran acknowledgment and remembrance activities, crafts, games and stories for children, team-building challenges for teens, music, and free food for all.
Community Hope will be at the event collecting donated items for Veterans and their families. Items being collected include laundry soap, diapers, baby wipes, nonperishable food, socks, household items, dish soap and sponges, bath soap, gift cards to supermarkets and gas stations, shampoo, and towels.
