NEW BRUNSWICK - With the heat wave expected to continue this week, the city announced that three cooling centers will be available again on Tuesday for people to escape the high temperatures.
In addition to the city library and senior center, the city now now is using Elijah Promise Community Kitchen at 18 Neilson Street as a cooling center.
This is at least the fourth day in the last five that the city has kept open two or three locations to beat the heat.
The New Brunswick Free Public Library at 60 Livingston Avenue will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and the New Brunswick Senior Citizen Center at 81 Huntington Street will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Community Kitchen will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The 90-plus degree temperatures are expected to continue for much of the week.
