PISCATAWAY, NJ – Piscataway Township’s Clean Communities & Recycling Programs continues with its free ‘Shred It & Forget It’ Mobile Community Shredding Program, announcing new dates through the end of the 2017 spring season.

  • Saturday, May 6 in Riverside Park, 430 River Road
  • Saturday, May 20 in Quibbletown Park, Academy Street & South Washington Avenue 
  • Saturday, June 3 in Quibbletown Park 
  • Saturday, June 17 in Quibbletown Park 

Shredding time is from 9 a.m. to Noon or until the truck is full.

The “Shred It & Forget It” program hosts free municipal shredding events throughout the year at various locations around Piscataway. All residents are eligible to participate to dispose of personal documents.

According to the Piscataway Police Department, “Privacy experts often recommend that individuals shred files, tax documents, credit cards and bank statements, and other items which could be used to commit identity theft.”

Acceptable documents for shredding are limited to confidential and sensitive materials only.

Non‐confidential materials, such as books, magazines, newspapers, etc., should be recycled through the local municipal recycling program and will not be accepted at this event. It is not necessary to remove paper clips, staples or paperboard binder covers.
