PISCATAWAY, NJ – Hundreds of supporters braved the rain and cold Saturday night where they joined together at Piscataway High School’s running track for the 3rd Annual Glow for a Cure 5K Walk/Run.
Participants donned brightly colored neon necklaces and themed tee-shirts as they followed a 2 ½ mile path from the stadium and into Green Acres Park, a route lit by multi-colored, neon glow wands and torches.
The Glow for a Cure event honors the memories and celebrates the victories of loved ones who have been affected by cancer.
First organized in 2017 by Indira Wojcik in remembrance of her husband, Michael who passed away from pancreatic cancer, this year’s Glow for a Cure raised almost $5,800 for research initiatives at Rutgers’ Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
