PISCATAWAY, NJ - Since 2010, the Piscataway Chiefs have battled and emerged victorious against the Monroe Falcons. Yesterday’s first home game of the season was no exception as the Chiefs once again defeated the Falcons, 21-14.
During the first quarter, the Falcons made it obvious they were ready to dominate, as the Chiefs did not expect to be hit with trick plays out of the gate. However, an interception by Nahjir Woods helped put the Chiefs back on track. On the offense, running back Elijah Barnwell and kicker Mike Stalanyj set up Piscataway for an early lead, 14-7, by the end of the first half.
Although trailing, the Falcons courageously attempted to run a tough play. And even though the pass fell incomplete, a pass interference call against Piscataway created a new opportunity for Monroe. The Falcons’ Miles Shipp scored on a 30 yard touchdown pass. Also, Josh Wood had two field goals for Monroe.
Despite Monroe’s daring efforts, Piscataway did not disappoint a packed stadium of devoted fans in Chiefs Nation.
The Piscataway Chiefs host the Edison Eagles on Friday, Sept. 25.
