PISCATAWAY, NJ - Piscataway Girl Scout Troop 83279 and the United Way are holding a backpack and school supply drive to help children in Middlesex County start off the academic year with necessary items.

“The pressure our local families face as they prepare their children for the upcoming year is tremendous – buying new clothes, shoes, before/after care, extra-curricular activities; the list goes on and on,” states Eric Kane, Vice Chair of the Middlesex United Way Young Leaders Society in a blog post.

“Often forgotten are basic school supplies – the very things our kids need most to succeed in the classroom,” he added.
