EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Police arrested Jamil Boykin, 23 of Piscataway and John Peri-Okonny, 28, of Monmouth Junction on drug possession and related charges after a Jan. 24th traffic stop in East Brunswick.

According to officials, police stopped a black 2008 Honda Civic on Route 18 for careless driving. 

During the stop an officer detected a marijuana odor coming from inside the vehicle.

The two men were arrested after a search of the vehicle revealed 2.89 ounces of cocaine, 204 Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, 48 Oxycodone pills, 126 grams of marijuana and hash oil.

Boykin and Peri-Okonny were each charged with 3 counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of hashish, possession with intent to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute in a school zone.  

They are being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center in North Brunswick.
