PISCATAWAY, NJ – For the first time ever in the proud history of Piscataway Pop Warner Youth Football & Cheer, the Pee Wee cheer squad will be competing for a National Cheer Championship in Orlando, Florida.

“My team finished in 2nd place at the 2015 Eastern Region Cheer Competition Championship on Nov. 15 at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton,” said Pee Wee Cheer Head Coach Carla Henry.  “We are very proud of our girls!”

This milestone means that the Pee Wee cheer team is one of the top cheer squads in the entire Eastern Region that consists of Pop Warner teams from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

This monumental victory has earned the Pee Wee cheer squad, which is comprised of youngsters ages 10-12, a ticket to compete in the 59th Annual Pop Warner National Cheer Competition Championship in December.  The competition will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

“As we prepare to continue our historic journey for a National Championship, mentally and physically our youngsters and their coaches are prepared for all aspects of competitive play, however, financially we find ourselves in a game that we quite frankly cannot win on our own,” stated Coach Carla.

“We are hoping this Go Fund Me fundraising campaign will help us provide or afford our children the opportunity to compete at the National Pop Warner level in Disney,” added Coach Carla.  “Our children have worked hard since August. They cheer the football team on at games all while practicing hard for competitions and being scholar athletes.”

Piscataway residents, please support and spread the word to help the Pop Warner Pee Wee cheer squad on their "Road to Disney!"

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
