PISCATAWAY, NJ – A Plainfield man faces burglary and theft charges for items stolen from several garden apartment complexes throughout Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties.
On Tuesday, Feb. 2, Anthony D. Armstrong, 26 was arrested and charged by Piscataway police and is being held at the Middlesex County jail with bail set at $100,000.
Armstrong’s arrest was a result of a joint burglary task force investigation led by the Piscataway Township Police Department.
According to police records, Armstrong is charged with stealing property worth more than $35,000 from the apartments.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation along with the prosecutor’s offices for Somerset and Union counties.
Investigators from the Edison, Woodbridge, Middlesex Borough, Plainfield, North Plainfield, Clark, and Scotch Plains police departments also assisted the Piscataway police.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected to be filed against Armstrong.
