PISCATAWAY, NJ – Students and staff will be able to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend a little longer as the Piscataway Board of Education will close schools on Friday, May 26th, extending the holiday from the scheduled three days to four.
The reason? The district decided to return an unused snow day to the school calendar.
In a Friday afternoon release posted on the school district’s website and emailed to parents, officials announced:
Piscataway Township Schools has some welcome news for our students and families. Because the district did not use all allotted snow days this year, the Board of Education approved returning one snow day to students and staff. The district will now close on Friday, May 26, providing a four-day Memorial Day Weekend. For families who need childcare, information for Holiday Camp can be found on the district website. We hope our families enjoy their time off together and students take the opportunity to prepare for final projects and tests in June.
