NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Rutgers University cops are investigating an incident last week in which two soccer players were robbed and threatened with a “sharp object,” police said.

Two people who aren’t affiliated with Rutgers told police that the theft occurred around 5:50 p.m. Thursday, May 11 on Antilles Field. The university-owned facility sits behind Chapel Drive in New Brunswick, near George Street and Route 18.

The victims were playing soccer when two perpetrators took their “personal possessions,” police said. The soccer players chased the alleged thieves toward nearby Chemistry Drive, where the suspects then threatened them with the weapon, police said.
