About Me: I am a 20 year resident of Piscataway and I live in Ward 1 District 4 with my four children. After graduating from Kean University I remained in New Jersey and eventually settled in Piscataway because of its beautiful diversity. I am currently the treasurer for both the Central Jersey Progressive Democrats and Piscataway Progressive Democratic Organization.
What I stand for: Our neighborhoods need investment. The roads should be fixed and all streets need to be plowed. A community center that is both affordable and accessible, a dog park and a farmer’s market should be established in order to expand local recreation and businesses. Piscataway can and should be a green community. A Clean Air Piscataway ordinance should be adopted and a bulk purchase plan for renewable energy put in place. Open space needs to be preserved and irresponsible development stopped.
Why I am running: I hope to serve as a voice for my neighborhood that I love dearly and ensure that all members of our community are represented and valued. New leaders need to be elected who represent our interests and not the interests of their corporate donors. As a committeewoman I would be able to influence the positions that candidates take on important issues, and what candidates get the Democratic line on ballots. The diversity in Piscataway that drew me to this town 20 years ago should be celebrated and valued!
