About Me: I have been a Piscataway resident for 47 years, and am the proud mother of two children who graduated from the Piscataway public schools. I have an extensive record of service to our community and our country. I was a School Board member for 18 years, a retired Captain, U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, and a veteran of overseas deployments, including Vietnam and Desert Storm.
What I stand for: I hope to ensure tax fairness and affordability in Piscataway. After 47 years I feel as though the constant reevaluation of homeowner property taxes must be stopped. Public disclosure of proposed development deals would allow working families and individuals to feel represented and included in their local government. Through the position of Committeeperson I hope to see Piscataway remain affordable and become more transparent.
Why I am running: I believe that our elected officials should be responsive to, and represent the interests of, all Piscataway residents. I look forward to continuing my service to our community as Ward 3, District 3 Committeewoman, where I will be a strong advocate for our working families and seniors.
About Me: I am a 15-year resident of Piscataway Township and I hold a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University. Prior to my current venture as a tech entrepreneur, I worked at a prominent cybersecurity firm, where I specialized in assisting cloud technology providers navigate the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
What I stand for: I hope to see Piscataway’s government become more transparent. With new leadership the government can be opened for all and public participation will be encouraged. Information and materials regarding local decisions should be put online along with community forums on important issues such as new development and tax breaks. The diversity of our neighborhoods should be celebrated and each member of our community should feel valued.
Why I am running: As a first generation Egyptian-American, I hold the strong belief that because I have the right to participate in the democratic process, I have a responsibility to do so. I hope to be able to give a voice to his neighborhood’s residents and do whatever I can to ensure that their elected officials represent them.
