HUNTER, NY — Marcie Yates, 56, of Westfield fell to her death while hiking in the Catskills Friday, according to a report in the Register-Star.
Yates was hiking with two others along a narrow trail when she fell 100 feet off a ravine near Kaaterskill Creek Friday at about 5:45 p.m., according to the publication. The article says that Yates was pronounced dead at the scene.

Yates is the second Westfied resident to fall to their death while hiking in that area this summer. In July, 17-year-old Ezra Kennedy of Westfield was hiking at the Kaaterskill Falls when he fell to his death. Kennedy was a rising senior at Westfield High School.
