SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Police were not fooling around Friday morning as they corralled a renegade goat on Kingston Lane during the morning rush hour.

Due to the timing, the morning of April 1, it may have seemed like a prank when police got a report of a renegade goat running on Kingston Lane around 8:18 a.m. Friday morning.

Instead, officers responded the short distance from headquarters to find “Peanut” traipsing along Kingston Lane by Crossroads South Middle School as commuters and school bus drivers stopped in their tracks.

Capt. Jim Ryan said the domesticated animal responded to police calling its name and officers took about 10 minutes to wrangle the goat back to its own yard.
