PISCATAWAY, NJ -- East Brunswick scored six runs in the first inning and went on to an 11-1 softball victory over Piscataway for the championship of the Greater Middlesex Conference Invitational Tournament on Tuesday.

Jenna Garofalo had three hits, including a first-inning RBI single, and Jen Cooper and Kayli Gural added RBI singles in the opening frame for East Brunswick. Kylie Boen pitched a three-hitter and struck out four to earn the win.

Brianna Boen went 2-for-2 with three RBI for East Brunswick, which ended the season with a 5-1 record in its final six games. Piscataway had beaten East Brunswick twice during the regular season. Ava Charleston made a game-ending catch deep in left field, robbing a potential home run for the game's final out.
