NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – Despite two Piscataway Lady Chiefs scoring above 20 points each, the South Brunswick Vikings took home a Greater Middlesex Conference quarterfinal victory on the road, 62-55.
South Brunswick outscored Piscataway in three out of four quarters during Saturday evening’s game at New Brunswick High School.
The Vikings squeaked by the Chiefs 12-11 in the first quarter, then expanded its lead to 28-21 at the half.
Those five points proved to be enough as both teams scored 34 each in the last two periods, giving South Brunswick the victory.
For Piscataway, LaNiya Miller put up 27 points followed by Kendrea Williams with 22 points of her own.
Both Chiefs accounting for 49 of the 55 point total.
Meanwhile, South Brunswick’s Natalia Louhisdon put down 25 points with Amber Brown also hitting double digits with 10 points.
The Vikings Samia Baig scored nine points, Leeannah Hunter had eight, and both Gillian Chambres and Lindsey Warick had five points on the night.
South Brunswick is now 17-5 and Piscataway is 15-6.
