SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – South Plainfield fire units quickly extinguished a two alarm fire in Traditions townhouse complex this evening. The fire started in the kitchen of a third story townhouse located on English Court. Fire units quickly responded and brought the fire under control.

“No one was hurt in the fire,” said South Plainfield Mayor Matthew P. Anesh. “The fire apparently started in a third floor unit and was quickly extinguished by our fine volunteer fire department.”

The first and second floor units below were not affected by the fire, but received heavy water damage. According to South Plainfield Fire Chief Thomas Scalera the exact cause of the fire is unknown at this point and the fire was under investigation.
