Millions of Americans watched yesterday, as a verdict was delivered in the case against former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, for the death of George Floyd. This case has caused pain and led to protests and candid discussions across the country, including here in Piscataway. We support our students and families, and acknowledge the impact this case has had on them. We are hopeful that this verdict will be an important step towards achieving a racially just society.

We want our students to know that if they need assistance, or know someone who needs assistance as a result of this trial or other cases currently in the news, we want to help. Please reach out to our guidance counselors, or other teachers or staff members, who can put you in touch with appropriate resources.

Below are other resources to help guide discussions both in school and at home about the trial and its outcomes.
