Discussing Driving While Black with Author Gretchen Sorin
Wednesday, June 17 at 7pm

Commemorate Juneteenth a couple days early by joining us for a discussion Dr. Sorin's new book, Driving While Black, an account of the relationship between the automobile and the African American experience during the Jim Crow Era and beyond in the United States.

Sorin's groundbreaking work, currently being adapted by Ric Burns and Steeplechase Films for PBS, examines how access to car travel created safe ways for black families to exercise the quintessential American right to move, unobstructed, through the country--previously restricted to whites only.

Use your library card to download your copy of the audiobook at hoopladigital.com or using the hoopla app.

There's still time to sign up - register here.

Our community is important to us, and we hope the Library is important to you!  Please consider making a donation to the Piscataway Public Library Foundation.
