NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - In January 2018, TAPinto.net set an all-time record for the most traffic in any single month since its inception 9 years ago.

From Jan. 1, 2018 to Jan. 31, 2018, TAPinto registered 913,468 readers and 2,328,707 pageviews, up from 799,995 readers and 1,934,413 pageviews during the same period a year ago.

"Since Facebook relegated news to a back seat a few weeks ago, many publishers have seen significant traffic declines.  Not here at TAPinto, where our original local news coverage continues to generate big numbers," said Chief Executive Officer and Publisher Michael Shapiro.

TAPinto sites are franchised to local owner/publishers who know their communities and are connected in them and tell the important news stories that the residents of our towns want to read.

TAPinto provides the backend training and support to its franchisees. Current franchisees include business development executives, marketing and communications professionals, veteran journalists, nonprofits, and St. Bonaventure University, among others.

"Facebook, AOL, Google and other multinational Goliaths can try their best to corner the local news market, but as long as there are locally owned and operated TAPinto sites delivering high-quality, objective, original local news coverage, our TAPinto franchisees will not only survive but thrive," said Shapiro. "That local ownership and local reporting makes all the difference."
