CEDAR KNOLLS, NJ - Mike Shapiro, the Founder of TAPInto -- the rapidly-growing network of hyperlocal news sites -- is among the individuals and entities set to be honored by the Boy Scouts of America's Patriots Path Council at their annual 'Toast to Scouting' Awards Dinner December 7.
The honor is bestowed on those who exemplify in their daily life the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as expressed in Scout Oath and Law, and whose outstanding community service is evidenced by the interest and leadership they have given to many worthwhile organizations, as well as the respect and esteem in which they are held by their colleagues.
Shapiro has been instrumental in forming Communications Exploring Post 100, a hands-on program that exposes participants to many career opportunities in TV, radio, journalism, graphic design and other communications areas. Exploring Post 100 is chartered by TAPinto.net.
The evening's other honorees include: Lesley Gabel, Co-Executive Director of Hunterdon Prevention Resources; Michael McDonough, President of Raritan Valley Community College; Donald Parker, President and CEO of Carrier Clinic, and Dameo Trucking, Inc.of Bridgewater.
