PISCATAWAY, NJ – A strong line of heavy downpours with some thunder and lightning passed over Piscataway Wednesday morning, amid weather forecasts predicting a drop in temperature for tonight.
As such, the National Weather Service issued a late morning hazardous weather warning for Piscataway and all of central New Jersey.
According to the 11:42 a.m. alert, “strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and early this evening as a squall line develops ahead of a strong cold front. Damaging winds and frequent lightning are the main hazards, however some hail is possible. Storms will produce heavy rain, and there may be localized flooding in areas of poor drainage.”
Batten down the hatches. March is roaring in like a lion.
