To the Residents of Piscataway,

On Saturday September 28th from 6:00 AM through Sunday September 29th at 6:00 AM, the River Road Rescue Squad accomplished many feats not accomplished in many years or simply never accomplished before.  During these hours of operations our units covered our primary area during the daytime weekend hours, a responsibility resumed on September 7th after nearly six years of being unable to do so.  In addition we also covered the North Stelton area as they attended training while also providong coverage to the Piscataway High School Superchief’s Bandfest.  In total, we fielded a total of 12 responses utilizing up to three ambulances and a specialty off-road transport vehicle simultaneously.  We cared for a total of 15 patients and transported to Overlook Medical Center (Summit), Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick and Saint Peter’s University Hospital.

Just five years ago this would have simply been impossible.  Our team of VOLUNTEER providers has grown from roughly five to almost 50 and our active fleet has grown from two operational ambulances to three and now includes a first responder vehicle, an off-road transport capable vehicle and a specialty resource trailer.  Over the last 90 days alone we have served throughout the State at the Middlesex County Fair, the QuickChek Festival of Ballooning, the Atlantic City Airshow and alongside Rutgers Emergency Services in support of the Rugers Football team.  Most importantly, we have once again begun to gain integration with our community accomplishing so very much with the support of our residents and leaders.  Your support of our mission both in words and in funds is truly invaluable.  As 2019 comes to an end, we can honestly say that we can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for us and our community!
