There will be a MASSIVE ESTATE SALE on October 26 and 27 from 9 am - 4 pm at 724 Park Avenue, Plainfield. The First Unitarian Society of Plainfield has occupied this building for 128 years and will soon be moving to another Union County location in order to focus their energy and resources on its mission.
All contents will be sold, including many treasures; antique furniture, old doors, an upright piano, a pipe organ, lovely silver plate and 30 beautiful oak pews. In addition, office, classroom, meeting room and nursery furniture will be sold. The sale offers something for everyone including home and garden tools, many books, toys, holiday decorations, art work, televisions and other unique items. There is a large collection of dishware and kitchen equipment appropriate for home, church or restaurant use. Free parking is available across the street in municipal lot #7 on the days of the sale.
The community is invited to stop by, shop or to view the interior of the building during the Massive Estate Sale. The historic sanctuary houses the extraordinary Robinson Window, the work of glass maker Oliver Smith. The congregation’s last Plainfield Sunday Service at Park Avenue will be held on November 4, 2018 at 10 am. The final Park Avenue, Plainfield holiday service will be on Christmas eve at 5 pm.
