The art competition was open to residents age 60+, and the artists entered a variety of works in different styles and media, which were separated and judged in 10 different categories. The judging panel consisted of local artists and arts professionals.

Once again, this year’s first-place winners will compete in the New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show this fall. The 2019 honorees will be part of an awards ceremony and reception on August 21 at the Studio Art Gallery.  The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a viewing of the artwork, followed by the Awards Presentation & Reception from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the College Center, located in Cafeteria B/C.

“Our seniors look forward to this event each year, whether they’re creating new works of art or supporting their friends,” said Freeholder Blanquita B. Valenti, chair of the County’s Community Services Committee. “This event promises to be another great celebration of their artistic ambition and creativity.”

“On behalf of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, congratulations to all our senior artists,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G.
