PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Piscataway Senior Center celebrated its 40th Anniversary on Wednesday, July 10th. The day-long event included a carnival and music provided by DJ Mel.
Township Councilmembers Kapil K. Shah, Jim Bullard and Council President Frank Uhrin welcomed many guests, and Senator Bob Smith wished the seniors well.
Representatives from the Piscataway Police Department, Piscataway Municipal Alliance and several local businesses joined the seniors for the big celebration.
The Piscataway Senior Center is a hub of activity for the township’s older residents.
According to its mission statement, the center is “a community focal point where adults 60 years old and over can come together for services and activities that reflect their experience, enhance their dignity, support their independence and encourage their participation in the center and the community.”
Fully funded by the Piscataway Township Office on Aging, any senior in Piscataway can join the center for free.
The Senior Citizens Center is located at 700 Buena Vista Ave in Piscataway.
