Dear Piscataway Families,
The Piscataway School District stands in solidarity with those who believe in equality and justice. We are outraged and saddened by the violence that took the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many more men and women who should still be with us today. We are committed to being an ally to those who seek equity in education, equity in life, abundant opportunities for all, and an expectation that equal rights and protective safety are at the very core of who we are. We will stand together against systemic inequalities and racism of any kind.
We celebrate our diverse community and all it offers our students. We work together to develop a school culture of acceptance and inclusion for all races, cultures, and identity groups. This focus begins with our Board of Education, which adopted a goal to support a culture of social and emotional wellness for all students, and continues through our administrators, staff, and students.
This is a difficult time for all of us, but we can lift each other up. These events can cause many emotions in our school community members and our students. Our counselors are here to help our students – to listen and provide emotional support. Please call them if you need these kinds of supports in any way.
We are Piscataway Strong. We will stand strong together.
