PISCATAWAY, NJ — Piscataway school officials announced Tuesday that the district recently received two prestigious awards.  

In a Facebook post, they said:

“For the third consecutive year, the district overall was named a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

“To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Piscataway answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for the music programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

Additionally, “US News and World Report named Piscataway High School in its 2020 Best High Schools rankings. Piscataway was ranked within the top twenty percent of high schools nationwide. The breadth of college curriculum and number of AP courses offered plus the number of AP tests taken and passed were among the top scoring areas for PHS.”
