PISCATAWAY, NJ -- Runners and walkers of all abilities are invited to light up the night with glow sticks and bright colors while raising awareness for cancer research at the 2019 Glow for a Cure.
Registration for the Saturday, May 11th event begins at 7:00 p.m. The nighttime walk/run starts at 9:00 p.m. in the loop at Piscataway High School, and follows a 2.5 mile route through the surrounding neighborhood.
The Glow for a Cure event is being held in memory of Michael Wojcik, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in early 2015, with all proceeds to benefit the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ).
This year, Dr. Jabbour from CINJ will be the guest speaker.
The evening will include a fitness festival on the football field where inspirational messages and colorful decorations will adorn the fencing and bleacher areas.
There will also be a celebration of cancer survivors, and a remembrance of those who lost their battles with the disease.
