PISCATAWAY, NJ — To help to facilitate the scarcity of medical resources due to the recent coronavirus pandemic, Shawls4Shelters Nonprofit Foundation recently donated 500 masks to Fish Hospitality Program, an organization assisting the local homeless population.
On Monday, June 1, Agni from the Shawls4Shelters Nonprofit Foundation delivered the masks to Patricia, a member of the FISH Hospitality Program, Inc.
According to the foundation:
“The Shawls4Shelters Foundation is a recently founded nonprofit with the core purpose of helping homeless shelters around the world. This youth run organization has been working tirelessly to help provide aid to homeless shelters during the devastating pandemic. We have hosted a virtual 2-mile running contest, which has helped raise funds as well as awareness for the cause. Our main source of support has been through donations, which has helped fuel our mask purchases. Our foundation’s four volunteers have worked hard to raise awareness for the homeless.
“FISH Hospitality Program, Inc. is a facility that allows the homeless population to have a safe haven, giving access to food and water as well as other basic services. It provides great care for multiple homeless families and single women in the state of New Jersey. Their shelter plays a major role in the local Middlesex community, providing great assistance and helping the homeless. We applaud Fish Hospitality’s impacts to the homeless community and hope to continue our partnership with this organization.
