PISCATAWAY, NJ - Piscataway officials announced that road work and railroad repairs are scheduled to take place in the township this week, beginning July 22nd.
“Crews will start milling and paving both Lakeview Avenue and International Avenue, weather permitting.
“For Lakeview Avenue from the crosswalk at William Street up to the intersection with S. Washington Avenue a new surface will be a welcome addition to the new tables, benches, landscaping and retaining wall at the west side of New Market Pond.
“While International Avenue between Stelton Road and Brotherhood Street will still be reconstructed with new sidewalks, curbs and new pavement as part of the 2020-2022 road project plans, this temporary surfacing fix will be very helpful to residents.”
Also, residents are advised that Conrail will perform emergency repairs at the Prospect Avenue railroad crossing between William and Union streets on Tuesday, July 23rd and Wednesday, July 24th. The closure will be for 48 hours starting on Tuesday at 7 a.m., said officials.
Detours will be in place. Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through these areas.
