PISCATAWAY, NJ - Piscataway Board of Education, Ericsson and Telecom Pioneers, Chapter 99, teamed up to Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! Four moving trucks full of office furniture no longer needed at Ericsson are now being used by Piscataway Township Schools. Rather than send the office equipment to landfills or scrap metal yards, Ericsson and the Pioneers are donating the furniture to schools and nonprofit organizations that reuse the equipment. Piscataway Superintendent Theresa Rafferty noted some of the current furniture has been in the schools since the buildings opened and welcomed the new additions. Plans are underway to use some of the furniture in new parent resource centers at each school in the district, saving taxpayer dollars. More than 120 pieces of furniture were provided and included desks, filing cabinets, white boards, conference tables, chairs, lockers, and bookshelves.
