PISCATAWAY, NJ - Middlesex County health officials are reporting 9 new positive COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 762 Piscataway residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.  

The reported death toll remains at 20 for the township.

There are now 13,411 positive cases in Middlesex County and 737 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.

Statewide, there are 1,827 new positive COVID-19 cases reported, bringing the total number across New Jersey to 133,635 people. 

State officials reported 254 more deaths by the coronavirus, bringing the death toll in New Jersey to 8,801. However, health officials described a decline in the speed at which cases are spreading.

There have been 159,023 negative test results reported for the Garden State.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant in following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New Jersey, and public health officials when it comes to social distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and disinfecting common areas. These are the best ways to reduce the rapid spread of the virus.
