PISCATAWAY, NJ — Middlesex County health officials reported 1 new positive COVID-19 case in Piscataway over the last 24-hour period, bringing the total to 779 residents who have tested positive. No additional information regarding the new case was provided.
Sadly, one death was reported, increasing the death toll to 28 for the township.
There are now 14,241 positive cases in Middlesex County and 819 deaths, according to covid19.nj.gov.
Statewide, there are 141,560 COVID-19 cases, an increase of 817 overnight, with 9,702 deaths reported, an increase of 194 since Tuesday, according to the State Department of Health.
The three-day rolling average of new COVID-19 cases in New Jersey is 1,009, which is the lowest in nearly two months. Just one week ago, that three-day average was 1,787. It has come down by close to 44 percent in one week.
